You don’t have to be an expert to have something valuable to teach or say.

You don’t need to have a perfect life to have a story worth sharing.

And yet… we live in this curated world, this filtered feed. The online world is full of façade and illusion. We can’t help but compare ourselves to what we see online. We have this voice in our heads that says we don’t measure up. That we’re not good enough. And when we look at what is favoured in the online feed—the gold medals, the perfect kicks, the ideal bodies—no wonder we feel this way.

We feel we need to be better than we are in order to even participate. So we either hide or build ourselves up into something that fits the illusion.

But this is doing us all a disservice. And, truly, there’s a better way. We can prioritize authenticity and vulnerability. Because—challenging as it can be to take this path—this is how we become stronger and build lasting connections with others.
