If you want to get better at something (for example, karate) you need to keep two things in mind:
- Progress happens when we put in enough effort on a consistent basis over a long period of time.
- If something isn’t working, we should change it.
The tricky part is figuring out which of these to focus on when our progress stalls. When we stagnate, in other words, should we focus on putting in more time, effort, or consistency, or should we change the program entirely?
